Welcome to Idaho Falls!

You’re going to love it here!

Population

Compared to the Nation’s larger metro-hubs, Idaho Falls is a small bedroom community even as it is the forth largest City in Idaho!

The City boasts approximately 72,700 residents as of 2026 (not including neighboring Ammon, which hosts about another 20,680). In addition, like many smaller cities it is considered a safe, stable and quiet place to reside.

Idaho Falls is the Bonneville County seat, with Bonneville having approximately 137,749 residents as of the 2026 estimate, the third largest MSA in the State of Idaho.

Economy

The MSA is economically a stable place. We tend to not have the dramatic swings in employment or home values like many places in the country. Major employers are the Idaho National Lab, the medical field as a regional hub, and, like many smaller communities, various branches of local government.

It’s worth noting that as a regional medical hub for the Eastern Idaho/Western Wyoming region, servicing 300,000+ residents our medical services here are top notch for a ‘rural’ area, and ever growing!

Visit this ‘My Sidewalks’ Dashboard page produced by the City of Idaho Falls for data and trends regarding the City’s social and economic profile, population and demographics, housing and economy and employment.

Location

We are 90 mins to 2.5 hours in any direction to arguably some of the best recreational opportunities you will find in the country! Keep your home base here and visit Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park, Sun Valley, Craters of the Moon, City of Rocks…the list goes on!

If you have not been here, plan a visit for our next vacation and see what the area has to offer. I doubt you’ll be disappointed!
